Not so good ...

Ive had trailer campers for 25 years. Not so good for parking in towns, shopping on the road, restaurant parking or pulling my boat or motorcycle trailer. But great for lots of people at ont time. Dually truck with camper off, wont go through drive through window businesses and rear end gearing makes for BAD fuel mileage. I can get to most off road places with truck camper and 4WD, and in long range shooting in the open states, I can set up shooting platform on the roof, above minor vegatation, and be able to see long distances and hunt from there. Inside space is limited but Im only in it to eat or sleep, not for recreation or games. Campers of any sort take more fuel but Ive a diesel truck that does 18-20 mpg according to how agrssive I drive, and with a 7200lb 3 horse trailer + living quarters the mileage is 14mpg at 70mph, less than what most gasoline trucks get empty. Im hoping that a truck camper will do that well. If your situation is different, you surely dont need a truck camper, but for some reasons, a trailer just cannot do the same job. If someone knows of a truck camper for sale that is an older model and reasonable price and will fit short bed full size truck, please contact me 256-585-4600 bill

Ive had camper trailers for 25 years and they are ...

Ive had camper trailers for 25 years and they are nice but camt do what a truck camper can. A<BR/> truck camper can be parked on city streets, parking lots, shopping centers, and other places. A dually cant get in drive throughs, and some other places while empty like a regular truck can. I dont need inside space for playing games or lots of people, just me for eating, bathing, and sleeping. And a 4wd truck can take you and camper to off road place and 4wd mtn roads that you cant go with camper. It will also allow you to tow motorcycle or boat trailer while using it. My diesel 4wd crew cab truck gets 18-20 mpg according to how I drive and with a 30' 3 horse, with living quarters horse trailer, it would get 14 mpg running 70mph. Youd be hard pressed to do that with a gasoline engine or any engine in a dually. Duallys have different gear ratios and take lots more fuel. Im looking for a short bed camper to use on trips for exploring out west, hunting from the roof on prarie dog towns, and for exploring out of the way places in our nation. If you know of a used unit 5+ years old and at reasonable price, please let me know 256-585-4600 thanks bill

I can probably do almost anything with a short bed...

I can probably do almost anything with a short bed that I could with a longbed.
